Alfred M. Yamamoto, MD

Dr. Yamamoto graduated with honors and Phi Beta Kappa from U.C. Riverside in 1983 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. His Medical Degree was received at the UCLA School of Medicine in 1986. His residency and fellowship in Pathology were spent at UC San Francisco. He was Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in 1991. Dr. Yamamoto has been with APMG since 1992 and has practiced at several of the Group’s Southern California facilities. This has included Medical Directorship experience. He is currently Medical Director at Lakewood Regional Medical Center. His memberships include American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Medical Association, College of American Pathologists, California Society of Pathology, Los Angeles Society of Pathologists, and American Pathology Foundation. His areas of special interest are fine needle aspiration cytology and quality assurance. Dr. Yamamoto is married and has one son. He is also an avid, but frustrated, golfer.
