Dr. Halawa graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine, where he attended on scholarship, and received his medical degree in 1984. He received a master of sciences, Ophthalmology, from the same university in 1990. His professional training took place in Illinois and Michigan, where in 1996 he was chief resident at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. His professional affiliations are with the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and American Medical Association. Currently he is co-medical director at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Torrance and Chairs the quarterly held South Bay Consensus Conference. Dr. Halawa enjoys his family of two children and a wife, and being new to the world of golf.
